Lenten Meditation: February 24

2/24- 40 DAYS WITH THE LORD: “Detachment & Front-End Alignments”
In this video, Monsignor William J. King highlights one of the graces of Ignatian Spirituality: Detachment. He describes it as pure freedom, interior freedom to accept God’s grace, and to respond to it willingly, openly, freely, and to share his grace with others.

We are called to detach ourselves from disordered attachments: We may want to go freely ahead in the service of God, but our attachments pull us the wrong way, and we have to fight constantly against them. That’s not God’s plan. God wants us to be free, and God will give us the grace to free us from those disordered attachments.

Detachment is like a front-end alignment in your spiritual life: God realigns our lives so that we are headed toward him in everything we do and every decision we make.
